Josh Acheampong, the England-born defender with Ghanaian roots, netted a vital goal for Chelsea U18s in their Premier League U18 national final against Manchester United U18s, which took place on Tuesday night.
Acheampong, who played as a right-back, had his sights set on securing the title with his team.
The match, hosted at Stamford Bridge, saw Manchester United U18s take the lead with Ethan Wheatley's 21st-minute goal, which held until the break.
Chelsea's hopes were reignited shortly after halftime when Acheampong scored in the 47th minute, levelling the score and setting the stage for a potential comeback.
Despite their efforts, Chelsea U18s were unable to sustain the momentum, and Manchester United U18s clinched the victory with Ethan Williams scoring in the 54th minute.
This result meant that Acheampong and his Chelsea teammates fell short of claiming the Premier League U18 national cup, with Manchester United U18s emerging as the champions of the season.
